National Geographic visits Illy's UDC and broadcasts live in front of La Marzocco! Obvious choice, no?

LM drew in around 1500 people during the two and a half day event. OOTB opened on Thursday evening by hosting Milan's Regional Barista Championships. While Friday afternoon was dedicated to our distributor meeitng, OOTB was open with workshops and a barista jam on Friday morning and all day Saturday. OOTB came to a close with a party which ended around 2:30AM on Sunday thanks to Milan's police department - noise control :D.

During the HOST Expo, LM sponsored a world record attempt with 4 GB5s. The challenge - to create a record number of espressos in an hours time. A team of 2 baristas worked 4 white GB5 3-groups. The result - 623 espresso coffees in an hour - destroying the previous title of 300 drinks. The competition drew hundreds of spectators and was nationally televised. A special thanks to ALTOGA (association representing over 80 coffee roasters in Lombardy) and the baristas who worked hard to meet this challenge.
